Get a larue tactical complete upper for $750. Then get any lower and drop in a larue 2 stage trigger. For a grand you have a premium rifle.
I just did this and used an Aero M4E1 stripped lower with BCM parts kit, LaRue 2 stage trigger. It's real nice and I'd put it up against any Gucci AR out there. Total price about $1,050.

Both are great weapons, but I think (at the time) it was a little less $$$ going with DD. Yeah DD is amazing. The only reason I went with larue is for the barrels. They aren't rated for 30k rounds since they are stainless but their accuracy is amazing. My larue is for accuracy and my milspec stuff is for everything else. At the end of the day everyone should be getting as many of these as they can so everyone in the house has one. Well said! I really think it comes down to the individual shooter that is the only thing that makes a difference between weapons like the LT and the DD. With my shooting experience (which is much) I would likely not see a difference, even up to 500yds.
