This is a more eloquent way of putting it. A lot of it is due to culture, but a lot of it is also due to their nature.

Women put up with these gentlemen figures in the past, doesn't mean they were really turned on by them.

It's best not to be angry about it, but it's good to be informed to their true nature, so you can adjust and adapt, and not be caught off guard by it. They are really good at faking the "innocent angel" ... I see it all the time. In fact women are masters at playing any number of different roles or personas to cater to the situation. It's their evolutionary advantage. A lot of parents fall for it and take the daughter's side when they should be taking the son's. I see parents pay off her student loans, her grocery bill, while she's out there in the club blowing $200 in a weekend, or drinking excessively.
