Lightyear, the movie based on Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear, generated box office takings of $51 million in the U.S. and Canada for Walt Disney -owned Pixar Animation Studios.

The disappointing data for the film’s opening weekend were compiled by Comscore. They showed the top spot was taken by Comcast -owned Universal’s Jurassic World Dominion, which grossed $58.7 million. That came over the second weekend for the latest installment of the dinosaur franchise.
