You used coercion on a person and traumatic episodes in life as your access points into the head. Don't pretend like you didn't know that would make me unstable. You're not the victims here, despite what your narcissism tells you. You wanted an unstable personality to reshape, and you got one. That's all you. You made deals with other people that a bit player had to conform to, so you tried to use force to make it that way. Except this is supposedly about God and liberating the oppressed, so it became a sick joke rather quickly with your Nietzschean Ubermensch attitude and love of coercion. I'm probably not going back to services, because it is bullshit. That will at least make me somewhat more stable. But don't complain that your attempts to tinker with who I am and what I see result in me becoming paranoid and unreasonable. Jesus.

Oh this is GENIUS!

I have two sisters that have been both diagnosed bipolar back in the 80s and they have ripped this AND their own family apart. Neither one of them are accountable for the damage they've done. The lies, the manipulation, or the relationships they've destroyed. One sister doesn't have children thank God, and the other had two that she abused horribly. One of her sons will never speak to her again as long as he lives, and the other one just barely tolerates her and stays at arms length. We didn't know about the abuse until the boys were in their 20s. They finally talked about it.

I have a goddaughter, and a daughter-in-law who suffer from this problem as well. Their moods come in waves, and their mostly predictable, and everyone prepares for the raging, crying, self-pity, suicide threats etc., and after couple of days it passes. In the meantime, they have ripped the hearts out of the ones they love most, usually their husbands.

My son, the husband of one of them, has gone through living hell, and because of the nine-year-old daughter, stays. He's the only one with a level head when things start happening.

My goddaughter is 40, she just had her first baby and he is the most adorable little fella. He's not even a year old yet, but he is already witnessing his mother's spirals. She puts on a happy face to the world like everything is perfect in her family, but we all know behind the scenes are the raging fights, the suicide threats, and the irrational behavior that goes along with each episode.

Why are we supposed to tiptoe around these people and watch what we say? I've been expected to watch what I say so I don't trigger them. I'm sorry, I speak my truth and if they don't like it they can get over it. I'm not going to lie, or am I going to coddle them. I don't care how much they apologize, we know it's going to happen again, and again and again. It never stops.

Bi-polars cycle b/w mania( overindulgence in anything, detrimentally) to deep depression. They may be rapid/slow cycling and prone to PDs

I have taken care of several people in my medical career. The one thing most glaring in these cases is completely irrational coping skills to adult life in society, especially self-control and or discipline. They all had traumatic childhoods. Incredible the lengths they would go to in their self destruction

They ended up with attachment disorders and were basically fit for nothing other than prison by the time they got out. That's the reality of the system and it is selfish parents as much as faceless bureaucracies that do the damage. Right now I live on my own and can afford it, don't hurt anyone or anything, and have been a solid friend to many people even in hard times. But my family thinks they own me, and they pursue me, and won't stop until they've fucked things up again. They've done it before, and that is their nature.

You can talk of pathology all you want, but restricting it to an individual phenomenon seems to demonize the patient to make the family look good. I guess I'm glad you aren't a caretaker any longer.

"Bipolar' or "schizophrenia " are nothing more than modern terms for demon possession. Trying to explain spiritual afflictions, without acknowledging the spiritual.

They are POSSESSED. And calling it "mental illness" does not address the issue, nor is psychiatry ever ever able to improve the situation.

Dealing with someone like this is exhausting. Being the parent of one is downright distressing! Imagine being the mother of the bad guy. No matter what you do or how hard you try raising them properly, they wear you down to the point that it makes you sick. And they won't believe you or even care. You cant help but love your child, even when they lie, cheat, manipulate, steal,cause damage to your home, make others believe lies about you just so they can get sympathy.

And yet you still can't live with yourself if they wind up homeless or in jail. Society always blames the parents regardless of how hard you tried. Take them to counseling, and it fails because they manipulate the counselor into working against you rather than helping them.

Sucks to be the person with BPD. Every now and then your reality is like you just woke up from a huge bender and shit the bed.

And you are the bad guy. And you are the first person to realize it, but don't worry, everyone will agree with you. You know they are right.

Not the whole truth, it depends on environmental factors and love, upbringing, abuse, and even someone who have reduced centre for empathy can with the right environment learn right and wrong and management with consequences.
While it's true genetic is a factor it isn't the determining factor.

It's genetic and then structural and function brain deficiencies, miswirings and receptor issues formed during critical brain development years influenced by environment and psychosocial factors.

You will not successfully talk, love or teach a person out of structural or neurowiring brain deficiencies or chemical imbalances. If that were the case, psychotherapy would have been madly effective with Cluster B and other "mental" (medical) disorders for decades. They haven't and they aren't.

DBT is currently demonstrating efficacy reducing BPD symptoms. The reason: the systematic process rewires the brain.

Bipolar is a synonym for selfish and self centered. All of it.

They need Jesus and repentance. It isn't a chemical brain problem, it is a sin problem.

BPD (Borderline personality disorder) is just a nice way of saying they are a shitty person this should not excuse their shitty behavior and choices.
