Upstate New York here.
I have a 10’x40’ milkweed patch and I have seen plenty of monarchs as well as a caterpillar that looks similar, but has neon green stripes and a slightly more tapered body- these are new to me.
I’ve had the milkweed patch for 5 years and I get more butterflies every year.
My yard is impressively biodiverse.
I’ve spent many years making it so.
