I don’t really understand why anyone would be angry. First of all, the entire country benefits from higher education. How else would we have Drs, nurses, engineers, veterinarians, scientists, etc?? So why would the government, who benefits by getting more taxes, charge ridiculous interest rates? And where does that money come from in the first place? It’s literally a bunch of ones and zeros transferred from the government to schools. It’s not even really money! I for one would be happy if they forgave student loans so that young people an stand a chance in this world. Inflation is killing them. Can’t buy a house, can’t afford rent, gas, food etc. and that is WITH a good paying job! If everyone is destitute than our entire country collapses. So is that what you want? A bunch of 30 year olds out on the streets with their young families? Talk about a selfish prick.
I don’t think that it should be more than what the tuition is for a 4 year in state college or maybe just forgive all the interest that has been paid and set it at .5% for servicing. Most people are paying 5-6%, mine was 7% and I had 27k in loans and paid 47k in interest. I wouldn’t wish that crap on my worst enemy so maybe you should rethink your stance. Not everyone in the country can have a blue collar job or we wouldn’t function anymore.
