Colts GM Chris Ballard: a 'Kid Can Walk In and Buy an AK-15 Automatic Weapon' | |
Overgoverned User ID: 80483752 United States 07/29/2022 02:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If an 18 yo kid can join the marines and carry an M4, then he should be able to get the semi-auto civilian version of the rifle(which isn't a weapon of war). Quoting: Pilgrim001 Joe is alright with shot guns, but shotguns with magazines can do major damage., depending on the load. Single shot shotgun made from plumbing can give you quite a headache. You make a good point. Suppose the Constitution were amended and the right to bear arms was revoked. Mr. Colt and Mr. Winchester and Mr. Glock and Mr. Mossberg didn't know anything all that special. There are plenty of fancier machines out there that'd be harder to DIY. A homemade firearm isn't going to have many features, and if it did, reliability would be iffy. Reliability would be iffy no matter what. A sufficiently crazy person would need a backpack full of homemade muzzle loaders, but the point is, it's still possible. Me, I'd probably use a blowgun with poison darts. Or maybe a baseball bat. |

When I was 12 I could ride my bike to Target and buy a box of 12ga, right off the shelf...Not even locked up...They always sold them to me, and only one time did a cashier say I should be 16 to buy them, but I still got them...and I have never shot up a school or workplace in nearly 50 years...I'm 48 in September...almost halfway there... BRIEF User ID: 79662918 United States 07/29/2022 03:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So, where do 13 year old gangmembers get their guns? Probably not at the gun store and way more people get shot by someone with a pistol than with AR's/AK's etc. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83481961 Even a 21 year old gang member couldn't get past the application for an FBI check..."Sir, under address you stated Da hood, Um that's not an address" And you checked every box that askes if you are a felon, a drug user, have ever had a warrant, skipped parole, or raped a white girl...I'm sorry Mr. Na-Dayshawn Brown, we cannot sell you a firearm today, but you can buy a bb gun and some paper targets... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78957307 Costa Rica 07/29/2022 06:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Im not 18 anymore so im not allowed to buy anything. Im sad. But there really is an AK15. It is the newer full auto version of the AK 12. [link to www.military-today.com] The AK-15 is a new Russian assault rifle. It was developed under the Ratnik future infantrymen program. This weapon was first publicly revealed in 2016. The AK-15 is mainly aimed at elite units of the Russian military and law enforcement forces, as well as possible export customers. It is planned that the AK-15 will replace in production an AK-103 assault rifle. The AK-15 is essentially a version of the AK-12, chambered for a 7.62x39 mm ammunition. This ammunition has superior penetration and stopping power comparing with the Soviet 5.45x39 mm ammunition, or standard NATO 5.56x45 mm ammunition. The 7.62x39 mm ammunition is still used by the Russian military and law enforcement forces and is widely used around the world. Some operators prefer this caliber. There were also plans to chamber the AK-15 for a standard NATO 7.62x51 mm ammunition. Also the new weapon is better balanced and has improved ergonomics. |

Eth84 User ID: 75103542 United States 07/29/2022 07:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard had some strong words in favor of gun control Tuesday. To bad none of those words were factually correct. Quoting: Where Eagles Dare When speaking in his capacity as the manager of a sports team on the non-related issue of mass shootings and gun laws, Ballard told reporters that he’s not “anti-gun,” he just thinks kids shouldn’t be able to legally buy an “AK-15 automatic weapon.” Whatever that is. “I’m not anti-gun. But I’m anti military-style weapons, that…it blows my mind the way that an 18-year-old kid can walk in and buy an AK-15 automatic weapon,” Ballard told reporters, speaking on the Greenwood Park Mall shooting in Indianapolis earlier this month (which was actually carried out by a 21-year-old, and stopped by a 22-year-olid legal gun owner). On that count, at least, he’s right – just not for the reason he thinks. Ballard also slammed Republicans and Democrats who “can’t come to an agreement [on gun control] because of politics.” Or, perhaps we can’t come to an agreement because one side has a firm grasp on firearms and the Second Amendment, and the other side wants to make a slew of news rules but can’t be bothered to learn the basic difference between an AK-47 and an AR-15, or a semi-automatic weapon and an automatic one, the latter of which is already illegal to own without a difficult-to-obtain federal firearms permit. Stick to what you know, Ballard. [link to www.mrctv.org (secure)] |
