Hey old timers, were people losing their shit in the 70s like they are now?

WW2 was in living memory of most of the population.

When you've been through that everything else is gravy.

Not really but you didn’t have wall to wall news all day and night and no internet then.

We had 3 channels and the local newspaper

Jimmy Carter got booted out of office on his ass. As I recall it was a 44 state landslide defeat.

everything was more laid back. Nobody cared about wokeness. I could actually work on my car, I would drive all over the country in an old jalopy. Have wild adventures. Strip bar lap dances were only a buck and you could do anything you wanted. It was a good time to be a man.

I'm not quite an old timer, but I am from the 80's, and no people were definitely not freaking out like now. Thats cause things ARE much worse now

No but crime was pretty bad in the 70's and Democrats were violent as they are if not more than now, Democrat radicals went on bombing sprees.

Jimmy Carter was completely fucking incompetent.
But he had a brian and wasn’t literally doing everything he could to destroy America and kill Americans.

He was a blithering idiot, but he wasn’t a vegetable being used to murder this entire country and our way of life.

The democrats now, however, are doing everything they can to destroy this country and murder Americans - literally everything they can.

And another big difference is, Carter was duly elected. I think it was probably a fair election for the most part. Biden’s election was absolutely corrupt and we’re paying for it now.

The 70s was depressing, it seemed. I was just a small child in the 70s, but growing up poor in Pontiac, the adults were all down. The children were angry and fought all the time.

Fast-forward a handful of decades and I now live in a poor, rural area. The parents are all down and the children are all angry. They fight all the time.

Prior to moving here, I lived in an upper middle class neighborhood in White Lake, Michigan. The children were not angry and they did not fight all the time.

The government wants that class of happiness abolished.

Poverty kills souls and the government wants all of you and your children down, depressed, and fighting all the time.

Now we have, "Oh, look, a black kid! Oh, look, a Muslim! Oh, look, a gay person! Oh, look, a transsexual! Abortion! War! Inflation! Recession! Pandemic!"

The anger and despair the they're fostering, they want that focused on other groups and not them. It's working fabulously, isn't it?

I sense hypocrisy.

Imagine that!

The Cold War and oil / gas prices and inflation just pissed us off. There was NO hand wringing hysteria, just pitchforks at the voting booth. Jimmy Carter was voted out and within months the country righted itself.

Plus the country was still 90% white, ie Europeans with shared history and memory and solidarity.

Expound upon why you sense hypocrisy. Just tossing a word out there means diddly squat.

Nightlife started so west coast people could get updates on the Hostage situation and the ongoing energy crisis.


The leftist radicals we're starting to replace the WW2 generation in the schools,colleges.

I had a WW2 Vet teacher named Mr Poland in fourth grade that wore his beret everyday with his medals attached,and every morning after the Pledge of Allegiance we would file into the mini gym and do exercise for 15 minutes,good luck seeing that today,

He wasn't never mean,just very stern.

Not really, people knew each other where they lived, people didn't travel as much unless for a job relocation.

Plus people sometimes took the law into they're own hands still throughout the country and the Police would look the other way because they were concerned about pissing off the community.

Check out the late 60s.

The Leftist tactics were the same, but the culture was homogeneous and less corrupted back then. People were unhappy, but took it in stride. They knew they could vote the bums out…unlike now.

Not that I remember. There was the gas crisis that caused a lot of problems, but not the neverending crisis mentality that reigns now. Definitely not the insanity.

This started out similarly. You can say the 70s was the easy group, but similar it out of their minds like today, brainwashed people have these blank minds that follow the herd. There really weren't that many people involved back then, this has gone public, from the 70s others were college age with a few older ones. You couldn't tell them they were wrong so, yep this is brainwashing to the next level today. All from the experiments from one of the agencies.

My Father who was in both WW2 and Korea was a hard working man. Never bitched about work at all. Was on his own since the age of 8. Saw his Father killed right in front of him.

We were sitting at my pool one day and we got to talking,..
he said, Enjoy every minute you have, because in one hour your life as you knew it, can be over. He was referring to war and how everything was normal for him, until the shells were flying and soldiers rolled in and everything and everyone was destroyed. Roaming the countryside at the age of 8, stealing food, getting shot at, taking clothes from dead soldiers peppered across the countryside. Farmers willing to kill you for stealing an egg...

and here people bitch about everything.

I will tell you this, people will soon have something to bitch about because shit is about to get real.
