These small media companies all buy their News stories from the likes of Reuters and Associated Press.

They parrot the words to avoid potential litigation, the News supplier being liable for accuracy. It is massively cheaper than having to source News themselves. Their few reporters concentrate on local stories like cats up trees, where they just interview the local police or fire chief and the odd "eye witness" blabber mouth - who has usually seen nothing what-so-ever.

It is only the Internet that has exposed the contrived and scripted nature of the News, and how few people control it.

Long gone are the days of Alcoholic independent reporters fighting with News Editors to dig about for some kind of truth. Everything has become a press release, or goes totally unmentioned and under the rug.
