I wanted to see what it was all about. More of the us v them - the children at the school were "special" and everyone else was a muggle if I recall. Just garden variety division programming, cont'd.  My children were great readers and the right age, but I never saw them with a copy, and I never gave them any as presents at Christmas, etc, and I gave them a lot of books. That and Lord of the Rings, for some reason I was never interested, so references to the plots fly past me.
