If you can find any old set of encyclopedias grab them. They are not expensive and even though a lot of the info is old, there is tons of info in them that is timeless. |

It's a low estimate... Factor in the fact that all spent fuel pools at all nuke plant a will run dry and burn... Fallout would kill most and not just in the US Exactly. That is the one thing people overlook with an EMP, is the spent fuel waste melting down. The NRC only requires a week of diesel fuel be kept on hand to run the backup generators, so if the EMP didn't get them the pumps shutting down with no diesel would. Life in the northern hemisphere could end for most. But who knows, maybe there are contingencies we don't know about.
