I was in the gifted and talented program, too.

No one is born 'gifted' or 'talented', it is acquired knowledge and dexterity learned naturally through involved parenting. You couldn't be more wrong. My parents were, and still are, basically, idiots. My own inquiries, curiosity, examination, and seeking answers is what led me to where I am today. Not their influence, in fact, their influence is what HAD to be shed. Yet you were inquisitive and taught yourself. You were NOT born 'talented' or 'gifted'. Still, talent and giftedness are taught .. learned. You seem to be "hung up" on the name of a program. Kind of off the subject.
