Newsflash, we are all going to die.

Where I live the number of deaths are on the decline, not upswing. I started watching the obit page of the online paper about a year ago. It asks a range of time you'd like to see obits for. A day, a week, or two weeks. six months, or a year. The year to date a year ago was 2100 and some odd people. Then as the months came and went it went down to 1800 give or take, year to date of deaths, then down to 1700 and whatevers, then for a couple months there ytd figures were in the 1600 range, and just today, after not really checking for a week or so, it said 1586 ytd. So, a 600 people per year drop in deaths from this time a year ago. I wish I could go back further and see what it was in 2020 and 2021 but it only aggregates a year of obits numbers at a time.

Most are age related from mid 60s to late 80s for the age of the people listed. Some are young people of varying ages. It's hard to know what killed them unless accident is stated.

That said, I have personally known 6 people who have died in the last year after having known almost nobody who has passed.
