On your last comment, I'm not sure about lux, Lucifer being Venus. Its also related to morning star which could be a lot of objects.
That said mythology is rich in names, traditions and meanings depending on the culture.

Personally I like to drive a word at least back to Latin.

Also I see mythology as somewhat symbolic, meaning it's interesting that cultures gave planets and constellations human form and names (most famous would be Orion). Human form to represent bodies in motion. Celestial bodies.
