Slander at Work Advice Needed
Long story short, I accused my boss to upper management that my boss is working another job that is interfering with his current job where I'm at. His other job is performing drag and accepting tips which is against my company's policy on having other jobs.

Upper management came in and told me HR said it was fine and to refer me to the Anti-discrimination and harassment policy. Nowhere in my accusations I even said anything about his race, sex, or sexual orientation.

Upper management confronted another employee about my accusations and told them that he couldn't believe there were still homophobia still in the workplace. Not once did I say anything about his sexual orientation!

I've been with this place for a long time but I can't stand the fact of what he told the other employee.

Tell them you expect satisfaction or you'll have your lawyer file a complaint with the state employment office.

What exactly do I have to go by? His comment about the homophobia has got me pissed beyond pissed. I never said anything about his sexual orientation. And hr wanted me to know about the policy on anti discrimination and harassment? Like really.

Normally I'd say get a lawyer.

But in today's age, you'd probably lose and will be financially ruined if you try to seek justice.

Things really are that bad.

So let me get this straight your boss is a phaqqot who likes to do drag shows as a second job and it's interfering with his main job, you complained that your boss is not doing his job properly because of said second job and now they are calling you a homophobe?

Write everything down.

If you are hassled or fired, you may have a lawsuit.

You brought a legitimate violation of company policy to the attention of management.

If you are the victim of retribution, you may have a suit.

Getting a decent lawyer to take it is another matter.

Re: Slander at Work Advice Needed
The burden of proof is on the complainant, meaning either the workplace/HR/ or your boss.

Sometimes it is hard to prove a slander case when it is uttered as a form of a personal opinion than a fact.

"Slander can be hard to prove as the complainant must show the slanderer was driven by malice and knew their claims were false."
Do some research about slander cases at work; you may pick up some good points and a comeback.

No, the way I see it the employer called the boss a phaqqot and is forcing him into a second job of stripping for a living. The employee is getting a lawyer to protect the boss from himself and his employer. Ask your boss if there's something you can do to help him earn more money.

i had a good job, and holy shit, it's hard to believe what some of this conniving underhanded white garbage is like these days. i mean this fugly idiot , he looked like un uglier dirtier version of Rachel LEvine, just went around telling people something I said, to get me fired, i wanted to kill him, he like took itout of context , i was actually trying to be friendly to him because he was sort of a grump and I had to work with him 10 hours a day so I was trying to break the ice
