When you need a cooking stove during the Zombie Apocalypse

For those that don't know, the point of the L-shaped rocket design is that it burns very hot, very efficiently without a lot of fuel, and it's almost smokeless.

I think it was invented in some university.

Awesome post! I have all that I need to construct one of these.

I also have a sun solar oven, a propane stove and propane bbq pit. So, I will use my rocket stove as needed.

That'll be fun to lug around on your back. Try StealthFyre. It's a true Apocalypse stove. It's stainless steel, does way more than a cinder block can, and weighs much less.

We're not all going to be refugees on the run during the Zombie Apocalypse.

Perfect for grilling the neighbors small breed dog.

Basically you just need to made a small chimney and have wood fire inside. Very simple. If you don't got alternative you can dig two holes, one for venting and one for putting pan on top and place any fireproof object on top of the hole where the pan would set and you got a natural underground stove.

Actually your going to have to hunt and kill the ones who started the biowarfare like Resident Evil. Which was Umbrella Corps in the story or else they would not stop and hunt the survivors down.

Sorry to break it to you but it will likely be a 1 time use. The heat will crumble those bricks as they are not fire brick and rated for 1/32 the amount of heat that will generate.

Looks good on YouTube though… like those dirt mansions they make out of a hole.

Cinderblocks are tough.
They will take it.

No they will 100% fail at first use. And possibly violently if they are moist because they will pop, crack and shoot out hot pieces of concrete from steam.

This is a horrible idea and pretty dangerous actually. NO chimney or fire place is made of cinder block it’s FIRE BLOCK or lined with fire block for a reason.

It's a twig fire, dude.

I will make a video. I am curious about the heat tolerance of the cinder bricks and how hot it will make the stove. I don't have an H Block, though I have a couple pavers (if not covered in dirt and algae).

I have a small stove top espresso maker and a killer view for sunrises on my land (17 minute walk from my house). Morning coffee might never be the same!

This lady has been using the same stove and seems to have no issues.

She's right that when you feed sticks in through the combustion chamber there should be airflow underneath, maybe an inch or so.

And we boiled 18L of water in 5 minutes with handfulls of dried grass. The cinder blocks will be just fine. Try that on a stove top!

Place another cinder block on the backside and you’ll have a double burner

He's only got one hole in the units working, all he had to do was add another unit on the other side, just reflect it, and he would have both vertical shafts working.
