He believed that it was the point of connection between the intellect and the body. This was in part because of his belief that it is unique in the anatomy of the human brain in being a structure not duplicated on the right and left sides. This observation is not true, however; under a microscope one finds the pineal gland is divided into two fine hemispheres. Another theory was that the pineal operated as a valve releasing fluids, thus the position taken during deep thought, with the head slightly down meeting the hand, was an allowance for the opening of these 'valves'. The pineal gland is occasionally associated with the sixth chakra (also called Ajna or the third eye chakra in yoga) or sometimes the Seventh (Crown) chakra. It is believed by some to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable telepathic communication. |

Aumon Haht Fith Ashai User ID: 375111 United States 03/17/2008 08:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is there any other way to open the capabilities of the pineal gland other than through meditation? Quoting: anarchy 394447there are many... most of them utilize some form of meditation tho. mantras, chants, yogas, majickal rituals (certain ones, not all of them), Merkaba, various kundalini practices, etc... also, exercise (preferably high cardio, and stamina workouts), dances, meditational stretching (similar to yoga, but based more on the individuals comforts than on a routine) i guess it depends on what you're looking to get out of it... most of what i do is aimed towards increasing the amount of tryptamines, and inducing the release of them. sunbathing, moon gazing, talking to plants and animals (sounds crazy, but it works wonders... oh, and you need to actually talk to them, not just act facetious[unless you're joking with them]) nature walks, all seem to help me with this, as well as the afforementioned. I WILL NOT let consequences dictate my course of action! A.K.A - Aresh, Awakened Me, An Ominous Coward (Howard), The Goddess Pandora, Aumon Haht Fith Ashai, Within The Flower and a few others... ------------------------------------ In all things, i am flowing back thru and in and out, within and without and beyond them. This is the Cosm. This is both I and You. I am the Truth, and I am the Lie - I am the very spark of the Divine! ------------------ as soon as you even go near these things your ego knows what it is.. its all like "what ya gonna do with that?" "Hope you not gonna take it" "cause i will throw myself down on the floor and scratch, claw and bite and tantrum" - Kyuubi "the gift of love makes much more sense than frankincense gold and myrhh" - Only Me |
