But I am curious if I'm not normal. Hence, the need for this poll! It's for my benefit (and maybe yours too) How much is too much? Am I an over-analytic review reading freak? Or, is reading Amazon reviews all-day not a good hobby? I know jerking-off, all-day, although excessive, is most certainly normal. Right? I also have a ton of shit in my shopping lists I also loved looking through the JC Penny and Sears Catalogs. The Christmas Edition especially. Anyone remember the Toy Soldier Mountain with Cannon. The back side was access to a Normandy style German bunker? It was huge...for a kid. Like 3 feet tall! Now, my 'Toys' and 'Hobbies' are much more expensive. It was in the heart of historic district, literally homeless people pissing right under our window and people partying/reving their engines until the early morning. Oh well, it was clean and cheap, we could walk everywhere, but it was really a 3 star review, not all the 5 stars I saw. I have high expectations. |

| Jay3 J to the 3rd User ID: 82221240  Switzerland09/03/2022 05:18 PM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | these days, reviews must be deciphered and carefully read to glean truth. how many reviews has that 5 star reviewer done. often, if it's a fake, they have very few reviews that they wrote before. but that's only the start. how many people have time to write a review, and what was their motivation? often, i have found, people write reviews when they are pissed off about something. after that, the second reason is that a person wants to reward for great service or product. but the whole review system is so fucked up, it starts to be very difficult to know what is true and real. with that said, reading enough, and spending a lot of time, can sometimes give you a decent overview, if you know what to look for in the reviews. No clotshot, NEVER! Mad as hell! |

I buy a product, then i look for things on youtube to see if someone has reviewed it. Very rarely do i buy something as someone on net or youtube pointed it out. I prefer to pick what i buy, then i will go and watch reviews on it, or see a video on how to use it, if its something i have no used before. |

I know roughly what I want, so I do a spec search to narrow my choices from several hundred to fifty or so. then I eliminate based on lesser features and price until there's five or six, then read maybe two reviews on each. In this case, one review mentioned AMD's latest chips, which looked cheaper and faster. I was surprised, ditched everything and tried again. The Ryzen 5800 chips are roughly 2/3rds the price for slightly better performance. so Im ordering a faster Lenovo T14 with 5850 chip instead of T14 intel for $800 instead of $1100. |

People give a one star against a product just because the seller was unreliable or because delivery was late or got lost. Reviews are made immediately after purchase, praising an item that they have just received. At best you have to read between the lines. Products sold through Amazon seem to always have reviews, most of which are obviously bogus. Amazon reviews are not worth bothering with. I have not bought anything through Amazon for the best part of 20 years, however I always like to see how uncompetitive their prices are. Amazon are usually considerably more expensive than eBay. I don't understand why people use that piss-pot outfit. I stopped buying shit I don't need 6 years ago, I now try and think of stuff I want, I struggle to come up with anything. Shit doesn't make you happy. |
