Anonymous Coward User ID: 79167322 United States 10/27/2022 09:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When you hear the word Linux, probably the first thing that will cross your mind is a terminal filled with a lot of commands. This might be true for servers running Linux, but it’s not all. Nowadays, more and more people are using Linux as their operating system, and even though the market share isn’t as big as Windows, many new Linux users choose it for its security and stability. [link to www.itpro.co.uk (secure)] One of the most effective ways Linux secures its systems is through privileges. Linux does not grant full administrator or root access to user accounts by default, whereas Windows does. Instead, accounts are usually lower-level and have no privileges within the wider system. [link to vivaldi.com (secure)] As you might expect, the volume of malware developed for an operating system is proportionate to its popularity. Windows has a large market share and because of that, it is a bigger target for scammers. Compared to that, there’s barely any malware in existence for Linux. That’s one reason some consider Linux more secure than Windows. |

Your only other options are Windows or Mac. Both horrible, full of back doors for the NSA etc. 2. There are about 1000 different versions of Linux, so you can't just lump them all together like it's one operating system. 3. Linux is OPEN SOURCE. When means anyone can see the code. This makes it safer as the govt cannot install back doors etc, that Windows and Mac are RIDDLED WITH. 4. Linus is FREE. 5. Linux has the built in security of asking for passwords for any changes made to the system. I switched to Linux when the "Windows 10" garbage came out. I will never go back. I still use Windows at work because that's what they have there. Would never use Windows for person use or business use if I had my own business. FreeBSD? OpenBSD? |

Linus Torvalds got infected by the woke virus and his mind might be subject to extremist ideologies Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84053470 2. He prefers functionality over security and his kernel is too big, buggy and it seriously sucks in many ways 3. Even Windows 10 does better kernel security than Linux 4.x (Windows NT team changed their bug tracking and follow up after two decades of failures) 4. Linus Torvalds does not know how to install a Linux distribution. Find the interviews. He is only a kernel guy. He runs simple things like Red hat ... he can't maintain systems Who knows who else watching his own 'secure' system in real time... 5. He had unbased battles with gr who did actual kernel security 6. Linux used to be 300k lines of code. Now 5 million 7. Who knows how many developers are on some foreign pay roll to undermine things 'by accident' in their communities, introducing new bugs for a living while playing programming guy... Get Hurd instead of Linux Find "Hurd" and Replace with "FreeBSD" Welcome to the same argument 15 years ago, junior. |

Your other options are: Industrial Operating Systems 2. Linux is just kernel. There is just 1 version and maintainer (a liberal btw) a liberal who doesnt even install his own systems because he doesn't understand it.. he is just a kernel coder. he admits this 3. open source means the governments can easily find backdoors. no user is going through 10.00 lines of codes modified every day. it also allows ANY government to embed their agents in ANY opensource project and 'by mistake' introduce errors for exploitation when needed 4. free meaning what? i dont mind paying for licenses if money is what you are after. and "muh open source" does not provide a sense of intrinsic freedom to me.. this is a lie, emotional deception 5. no it hasnt. linux is just a kernel and when it launches you get a shell at user zero new argument: microsoft kernel security team has better tracking system and uses better memory protection by default. linux has it default disabled... linux these days is focussed on the gamer community with zen kernels and lts because regular kernels are not stable like when windows was bad and linux was good we are on a new timeline , yes |

Back entry is built into most CPUs now at level far below OS. When you bring home a new computer you are already hacked. So go ahead and cheerlead your pointless (from security standpoint) OS.
