They have to by law first install a prepayment metre. Those with smart meters can be 'switched off' whenever they choose though, but if that happens, well expect revolt. As I said, keep the monies aside, don't spend it unless you need food, thermals or candles, better in your pocket, as come December all hell could and probably will break loose. billy loads of mates |

I have those installed but it all comes out of my DD Card.... We can't just simply not pay or we'll be switched off... I don't know about quarterly meters though... Such as no payment to buy gas for the power plant. |

Quoting: Lucifer is a loser Don't pay, cancel your Direct Debit. Email them three times and say you can't afford it. Then put the monies aside and keep a close watch on your usage... Energy companies are going to have far bigger problems than people cancelling their Direct Debit (although paying by Standing Order a better option anyway). Bad debts are going to rise, meaning a prepayment smart meter with an unbelievably high tariff. Theft of electricity / gas from energy companies is going to become a huge issue, as people discuss was of getting by. They are going to have to monitor individual usage very closely. The trouble is they will end up also chasing people who were just cleverly economising. Fun times ahead (not so much!) |

They plan to make the lives of ordinary people a grim nightmare . . . . . . but then will start building smart cities like 'The Line' where the jabbed and high social scorers can find refuge. They must be loving it as they steadily see their plan coming together. |
