I just landed on the stupid Wa====Po===> and it named those states as having no standard a/c. Maybe you're rich and unaware that everyone in an apt. doesn't have it?


Everyone in California has a/c! (Except the tards in a few snobbish cities, yeah they're getting what they deserve!)

I don't have AC yet in my house I bought last year, still fixing it up but will have AC by next summer, as to roasting no I am not, my house stays OK even today at 102 degrees, I have 2 windows open and 3 fans running, stays good till around 4 pm than gets a little warm but cools down fast after sunset.

We are not as hot as southern California or Vegas or Phoenix and our nighttime temps get as low as 62 degrees..

Outside of Boise away from all that concrete it's not as hot and one can survive without AC, our nighttime temps drop fast.

Bay Area never had AC. You could really use it maybe two weeks a year. Either get a small window unit and keep one room cool or...

But now we have a full home system. Wife hates heat and manopause gives her hot flashes.

I have to admit i was happy to have it last night, it didn't cool off.

At the ranch, the low temp was 90F. Hi temps on either end were 107F and 109F today. Woof!!

OPer has no clue how people survived without AC or even modern heat 100 years ago, they all did just fine.

I grew up in Montana, and we're talking 40+ years ago. We had AC back then. It's extremely hot in the summer there, and extremely cold in the winter. There's also electricity there. Why wouldn't people have AC unless they choose not to have it?

If your house has good shade, good insulation and you have windows open and some fans circulating the air you can go without AC, if it's not much above 100 degrees.

People like AC cause it's easier to cool a house and keeps out the humidity.

My current house just had a old swamp cooler that leaked so I removed it and have no AC or swamp cooler now and at 102 degrees today my house stayed ok, but going to install a mini split ac/heat pump next spring ready for the next summer.
