A dog with a strong prey drive will kill a cat in mere seconds. We had a hunting dog that once killed 3 farm cats in less than 2 minutes ...she did get scratched to shit but it never phased her...the farmer was not happy and we were asked to leave ...the weird part is we had our own cat that the dog never messed with?

True story: There was a wounded baby rabbit in my neighbors yard, I picked it up in my hands. My little Italian Greyhound was curious so I knelt down to let her sniff the baby.

My Greyhound snatched that baby rabbit and took off as fast as greyhounds can run. She ate the whole thing, nothing I could have done at that point.

Lessons learned. All animals are still wild animals, they are not people. heh.

The mom cat will also do this when a nosey toddler is grabbing the kittens. The next door neighbors grandson lost his eye this way. Give animals respect and respect their rights to boundaries and privacy.

The problem now is that most households have pets. That's not a natural state of being.

Back in the 1960's there was maybe one or two dogs on a street, not many more. The Pet Industry has boomed. Lots of people think they are entitled to have a pet and think their pets are humans.

In Islam dogs are haram, they are not allowed, illegal. Citing the Koran that they are unclean, well because they shit everywhere and it is a problem.
