Anonymous Coward User ID: 28103634 United States 09/15/2022 12:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah. I've started. Feels great. Switching from 3 meals a day to one is the hardest part. But after that, you feel tremendous and food actually tastes better. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2460366 Also cut out store bought bread completely. The store bought crap started to go moldy quickly. F that. Bake my own rolls now with organic flour, added a bunch of seeds, Omega3 oils and a couple spices. Hearty. I spend one day baking and then freeze, only take out what we eat in a day or two. Nothing goes to waste. Drink plenty of water when you awake in the morning and add in a protein shake/drink and that should hold you over for at least 8-12 hours. If you find yourself getting hungry and or nauseous from fasting drink some cold water at a fast rate. And also be mindful of your first meal after fasting. It should be a small lean protein meal like grilled chicken. No red meat or processed foods it will hit your joints with arthritis and cause gastric issues. I’m serious about the quality of your first meal after fasting. A lot of people go animal mode and eat like 3,000 calories all complete junk food. That’s the last thing you want to do. Dr Eric Berg DC is a good YouTube channel for this. Not promoting at all but that’s who I got a lot of fasting information form |

Quoting: Doc McBaffled Original plan was for 5 but it was going so well I did 2 more days. Hardest part is the first 3 days. On day 4 I was no longer hungry Same on Day 5 that's why I extended it 2 more days. Lost 12 lbs. I would probably try to do it again one day. Like I said you can go through the first 3 days, it gets a lot easier after. Same exact experience. After day 3 it’s a whole lot easier. I also find if you skip your evening meal ( dinner - supper) the day before you start. You’ll be less hungry on day 1. I think fasting puts you on a whole different realm of consciousness. I can think more clearly and nothing really pisses me off. I think it’s good for the spirit. |

Yes, just sitting and sweating Lowers Blood pressure, lowers H1ac and Blood sugar and gives the same benefits as exercise. Check it out on U tube. Hot tubs also work. saunas are great. I got one of those embarrassing pop up tent ones you sit in with your head poking out on amazon warehouse for cheap. I LOVE it, works like a charm. I can sit in front of the TV and throw a show on and be giving my heart a workout. If your gonna be watching a show anyway why not get a "free" work out in? I also like it after weight training to kinda loosen up. I haven't done a long fast like 5 days but something I use in perpetuity is intermittent-fasting - well worth a read. The results are excellent when you get good at it, especially with athletic performance. It trains your body to be more efficient with the energy stored in your body, but it also levels out your insulin and other parts of your chemistry so that when you actually consume something for energy, you feel like you get more energy out of it and bigger bursts of energy lol. I combine it with somwthing I call "strategic eating" which basically means changing your relationship to food entirely. Every meal becomes engineered based in micro/macro nutrition and what you are hoping to achieve health wise. TLDR version; Worth researching intermittent-fasting as a sustainable weight loss methodolgy, with many more benefits. Trains you to think about food differently and manage your energy - this will make you feel more alive I have a policy of trying not to eat or drink after 7 pm til morning. It is basic and gives the body ample time to deal with the day. |
Shaun Kaven User ID: 71498518 Colombia 09/15/2022 01:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I do it, OP, and it changed my life. I’m healthier, I have more energy and I lost weight. So briefly, I dropped everything about 5 years ago and moved to the Andes Mountains in South America, bought some land and created my own homestead. I’ve got fruit trees, lots of veggie gardens, cows, chickens, and even honey bees. I don’t eat anything after 7pm, then in the morning I have a cup of black coffee (from my own coffee bushes, I might add) and some of that MCT oil in it. I don’t eat my first meal until around 2pm, and it’s eggs (from the chickens) scrambled with spinach from the garden and bak choy from the garden. When I first started fasting I would be hungry in the morning. That only lasted a week - your body adjusts really quickly. Now, I have zero desire for food in the morning. On rare occasions I will eat earlier, like 12pm, but only if I’m hungry. I figure that if my body is telling me something then I should listen. Hope this helps! Like I told my ex-wife, I said: honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it’s all in the reflexes… |
