Last I checked a month or so ago they had about 50% of the population had their third shot (first booster) and about 10% of their population had taken the fourth shot (second booster). They are now distributing a fifth shot (third booster) and it has pretty low uptake numbers so far, but most other countries are still only distributing their fourth shot (second booster). The uptake is also artificially low because many who recently received their 4th shot are still waiting the required time to qualify for the 5th shot. I'm not sure about the booster, but nearly everyone in Israel (except the pockets of very religious who have forever been anti-vaccine) got vaccinated with at least 2x. Also Israel has rolled out 3x and sometimes 4x boosters and were the first to so so with pushing 4x although they quickly found it waned very quickly. It seems extremely unbelievable that 2.4% would be in compliance (unless you are talking 4x shots). Like here I know a lot of people did get their first booster. I could believe 30% are boosted like here but no way I can believe it's 2.4%. Israel did eventually goto soft enforcement when Omicron came and they realized the vaccines were not effective against it for transmission. Eventually the scientists in Israel began to get the ear of the politicians and that seemed to also coincide with the end of the vaccine mandates, passports, mask mandates, etc. This was recognized around the world as well; Israel was one of the first to enact the passport system and also the first to retract it. |
