I agree. In addition to being thousands of miles from the US, the equipment and tactics of the US military were not suited for jungle warfare operations. The jungle canopy allowed for incognito troop/supply movement and relatively successful hit and run small arms ambush attacks. Ukraine has forests but is largely open farmland making any movements easier to detect. Couple that with modern satellite and drone recon will make any long term Ukrainian resistance very difficult

The Vietnamese were fighting in their own country with the support of the local population. The locals reported American troop displacements to the insurgent intelligence. They did not report the locations of the insurgents to American intelligence.

The situation is the opposite in Ukraine. The Ukrainians are seen by the locals as invaders. Every attempt that they make to hide their forces, gets reported to Russian intelligence. No insurgency can survive without local support. The Ukrainians are more worried about insurgencies on their own territory. That's why they brutally crush all dissent.

A representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Vadym Skibitskyy, has said that Russia might use nuclear weapons during an air defense operation.

Ukrainian intelligence: "Russia may use nuclear weapons against the Armed Forces".
"It is possible that Russia will use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. They will try to stop our offensive and destroy our state," the head of Ukrainian intelligence said in an interview with ITV News.

He noted that this is a danger for the rest of the world. Allegedly the explosion of tactical nuclear weapons could affect not only the Ukrainian territory, but also the entire Black Sea region.

"We remember the history of Chernobyl. We may have another catastrophe on our territory, in Eastern Europe," said a high-ranking Ukrainian serviceman.

The consequences of weapons of mass destruction will affect Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey and other countries, Skibitsky listed.

Any news about "NATO Ukrainian special forces secretly land at Zaporozhye nuclear power plant" ? Is that true or rumor ? Thx
 Quoting: shyc

You mean September 1?
The AFU command made a desperate attempt to seize the Zaporizhzhia NPP on the eve of the IAEA mission's arrival. The storming of the facility took place on the night of September 1 and ended in a crushing fiasco. According to the well-known blogger Yuri Podolyaka, the operation was planned and carried out with the direct participation of British special services. However, it did not help Kiev to succeed.

The blogger attributes the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the awareness of the Russian Armed Forces command about the prepared operation. Because of this, the Russian troops were able to lure the enemy into a trap, allowing only an advanced detachment of Ukrainian landing troops to land on the left bank of the Dnieper. Having waited for two barges with the main force of several hundred men to leave Nikopol, they opened fire. As a result, both ships were sunk and the landing troops were destroyed. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile strike at Nikopol, where a third wave of landing troops was being prepared.

"The total losses of Ukrainian forces in this operation have already exceeded 300 people killed, and these are not reservists and not just the AFU, this is the elite - special operations forces and special forces," Podolyaka said on the air of the program "Big Game."

It is noteworthy that under certain circumstances Kiev could have come out the winner of this story. If the Ukrainian special forces of the first wave seized the pier and the barges reached the shore, the control over the Zaporizhzhya NPP could have been taken over by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There were enough forces to do this. The fighters from Nikopol would have occupied the perimeter and then it would have been very difficult to dislodge the Ukrainians. On the eve of the IAEA mission's arrival, such a development would have been Kiev's most high-profile success in the entire UAS.

"Actually, the plan was very beautiful, just like the landing of Russian special forces in Gostomel. But the Russian special forces landed spectacularly, beautifully - and won. And here, mostly due to the leaking of information there was a complete, total defeat, "- summed up the blogger.

Earlier, the military expert Viktor Baranets told what goal was pursued by the Ukrainian landing force, trying to seize the Zaporizhzhya NPP. [link to 24tnews.ru (secure)]

Vzglyad.ru reported on a statement by Estonian Prime Minister Kaija Kallas, who warned residents that they would have to solve their own problems with the lack of electricity. She urged government agencies, businesses and households to work out in advance how they would cope with their needs during blackouts. This should be taken to mean that there is no point in Estonians waiting for help from the government.

Kallas, in her usual manner of western politicians, immediately identified the culprit of future problems - Russia. The Baltic states are interconnected with it by one energy network, but have long ago promised to get out of it by 2025. They are afraid that Russia will be the first to take such a step, which was voiced by Callass as a possible reason for the blackout. But the prime minister did not say a word about the difficulties of energy companies in Estonia itself due to the sharp increase in prices for their products this year. [link to glas.ru (secure)]

"We recognize that China and Russia have firepower that in some cases far exceeds ours," said U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth (baba hahaha Secretary of the Army). - We are in the process of ramping up our artillery formations and improving their range, rate of fire, lethality and mobility. To do that, the United States is developing new weapons with a range of up to 2,500 kilometers. The priority is given to hypersonic weapons.
The Pentagon has already made adjustments to its weapons procurement plans and has announced its intention to purchase 500 additional HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems by 2028. These weapons have proven themselves well in the area of special military operation. Apparently, the White House believes that the HIMARS have passed the battleworthy test. The decision will load the orders of the U.S. military industry, and in particular the company that develops Lockheed Martin MLRS. [link to ria.ru (secure)]

WASHINGTON, September 23 - RIA Novosti. French President Emmanuel Macron said he could not explain the actions of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
Macron is known for his numerous and lengthy conversations with Putin, which have not stopped since the start of the military special operation in Ukraine.
"I have no rational explanation. I think it's a combination of resentment, a strategy of hegemony in the region and, I would say, the consequences of COVID-19, isolation," he said in an interview with CNN when asked about Putin's motives. [link to ria.ru (secure)]

MOSCOW, 23 Sep - RIA Novosti. More than 60 real estate and other assets worth $500 million have been arrested at Russia's request abroad despite the tense international agenda, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.
"At the moment, despite the tense international agenda, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office is ensuring and controlling the retention of more than 60 items of real estate as well as financial assets in an amount equivalent to half a billion US dollars by the competent authorities of foreign states," Krasnov said in Astana, where he discusses with colleagues from SCO countries the return of illegally withdrawn assets from the state.
"Speaking directly about the recovery procedures, which have the ultimate goal of returning the financial assets illegally withdrawn from the country, I must emphasize that, above all, it is a joint work of the prosecutor's office, investigative bodies, operational services, financial intelligence, banking and fiscal control," the Prosecutor General added.

Republican Congressman Jim Jordan said U.S. President Joseph Biden has led the country to foreign policy disgrace and economic problems.

"Joe Biden's America is record inflation, over-the-top crime, illegal immigration, foreign policy humiliation, student debt forgiveness for elite students, an out-of-control Justice Department and a supply chain crisis," he wrote on social media.

Congressman Jordan also called the head of the White House a no-nonsense politician.

Earlier, former Republican Senator from Colorado Ted Harvey said that Joe Biden was "the worst U.S. president in the 21st century," noting that Republicans this year have every chance to defeat the Democratic president, for this they only need to be reminded of his string of failures.

Previously, former U.S. President Donald Trump said that the U.S. administration, led by current U.S. leader Joe Biden, had brought the country to the worst of times. According to him, Americans have "a president who doesn't understand what's going on, what he's saying, where he is."

Trump has repeatedly expressed that the U.S. is "going to hell" because of the policies of current President Joe Biden. According to the former president, the current head of the White House's decision to raise taxes in the U.S. is tantamount to killing the American economy.

MOSCOW, Sep 23 - RIA Novosti. The U.S. economy benefits most from the energy crisis in Europe because high gas prices are forcing European companies to move their production to the United States, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal.
"The U.S. economy has been among those who have benefited the most from Europe's energy crisis," the Journal wrote. Faced with high gas prices, European companies producing steel, fertilizers and other goods are gradually moving their businesses to the United States, where they are attracted by more stable energy prices and government support.
As the WSJ notes, while energy price fluctuations and supply chain problems threaten Europe with what "some economists warn could become a new era of deindustrialization," the U.S. government has approved a series of measures to stimulate industrial production. [link to ria.ru (secure)]

In the course of actions to eliminate the sabotage group, one of its members was neutralized and the other was detained. The group was preparing to blow up the power lines, but failed to carry out the attack.

The detained saboteur Valery Panchuk said that he failed to find accomplices in Nova Kakhovka to commit terrorist acts. According to him, this happened because the attitude towards Russia among residents of the Kherson region has noticeably improved.

Panchuk previously served in the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine. He said that he acted as a member of a sabotage group, which was supervised by a GUR officer named Vitaly.

Panchuk had the task to blow up the power line that powers the Crimea, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson region. He realized that he could not do it without help, which he reported to his supervisor. He advised him to find a couple of local people.

"It was in May, and at that time in Nova Kakhovka, I thought I could ask anyone and anyone would help. I said, 'All right, I'll find one. I started asking people - my acquaintances refused. And then I went around and listened to people talking - people changed their attitude: Ukraine gave up, then Russia started giving pensions and rations," said the detainee.
He stated that the residents began to have a much better attitude toward Russia. As a result, the Ukrainian saboteur did not find any helpers to carry out the attack.

As EADaily reported, the day before in Kherson region there were detained saboteurs, who were planning attacks on civil infrastructure to disrupt the referendum, one of them resisted and was killed.

And over 200 in exchange for something like 55 Allied fighters. If Nazis are all that were available, why not a one to one exchange? How can deNazification work when those Nazis are set free to re-group and return to battle - and terrorizing and murdering the locals?
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

The U.S. military has sent about a hundred AGM-88 HARM anti-radar cruise missiles to Ukraine. At the moment it is known that there are at least 36 containers with AGM-88 HARM missiles, each containing two cruise missiles. However, another fact is much more remarkable in one of the pictures that appeared in the network. One can see a marking on the missile, indicating that the missiles were manufactured in 2022, which indicates that the cruise missiles were manufactured specifically for the needs of Ukraine.

At the moment the exact number of AGM-88 HARM cruise missiles sent to Ukraine remains unknown, however, according to Flightradar 24 and ADS-B Exchange resources, the plane has arrived to Ukraine's neighboring Poland, where it delivered the cargo.

The delivery of such a large number of missiles points to the fact that Ukraine has quite a few aircraft capable of striking with these weapons and that the Ukrainian Air Force is actively using these weapons. At the same time, there is no evidence to date that American anti-radar missiles have been successfully used.

Partial mobilization, announced in Russia on September 21, 2022, also affected 150 officials of Primorsky Krai. The government of Primorsky Krai announced this information, noting that officials also had to mobilize in accordance with current legislation, just like ordinary citizens.

According to Oleg Kozhemyako, mobilization actions are performed in accordance with the existing plan and various specialties are removed from their jobs, which may require retraining of those citizens who are not drafted due to any circumstances. Besides, the situation has also affected the officials who have already gone to the military registration and enlistment office.

Turkey's newest Bayraktar AKINCI drone strike drone struck Syria for the first time.

A few hours ago, Turkey's newest Bayraktar AKINCI strike drone was spotted over Syrian territory for the first time. It turned out that the drone was not on a reconnaissance mission, but was carrying out strikes, and not only against members of Kurdish armed formations, but also against positions of the Syrian military.

On the photo taken by locals, they can identify the latest Bayraktar AKINCI UAV. Similar drones have been seen in flight before, but this was the first time these aircraft had been used in a strike. Remarkably, the attack was carried out using missile weapons rather than aerial bombs, which had also previously been considered uncharacteristic of Turkish drones.

There is currently no information about the damage and casualties after the Turkish strikes, but judging by the video footage from the scene, the damage is quite severe, especially if you consider that instead of standard air bombs, the Turkish military used short-range cruise missiles.

It is notable that Ukraine is one of the customers of the Turkish Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicles, which does not rule out the possibility that Ankara may hand over the drones to Kiev, citing earlier contracts.

A Shahed-136 drone destroyed a Ukrainian ship in the Nikolayev region.
The power of the Iranian strike drone Shahed-136 was enough to cause such serious damage to the ship that it was destroyed. Russian military correspondents, apparently well acquainted with the current situation, give this information.
According to military correspondent Andrei Rudenko, the Shahed-136 drone made a high-precision strike on the ship, as a result of which the latter was destroyed. What exactly was the target of the strike is unknown, however, it is noted that targets in Kryvyi Rih were also attacked using a similar drone.
The information about the defeat of the Ukrainian ship in Ochakov is also confirmed by the journalists of the publication "Russian Spring", however, it is stated that the ship was damaged - there is no question of its destruction.
"The operative command of the AFU "South" earlier reported that the ship was attacked by the strike of the UAV kamikaze "Shahed-136" in the Nikolaev region. It is reported that the area of the fire was 50 square meters," Russian military journalists said in a report.
In turn, it should be noted that the strike could have been carried out by another drone, especially as no facts of the ship's destruction have been presented.

British citizens on Twitter appreciated the reservation of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who accidentally praised Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Users noted that Johnson told the truth for the first time, reports RIA Novosti.

Recall that when Johnson gave a speech about supporting Ukraine, he expressed words of gratitude to Putin for his inspiring leadership. The former prime minister then apologized, saying he was referring to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

"The truth finally came out of Boris Johnson's mouth," one user wrote.

"Oops, he accidentally told the truth," another commenter noted ironically.

According to another reader, Johnson didn't say it by accident at all; he knew exactly what he was talking about.

Another user wrote that Johnson would now be all over the news for a week because of this disclaimer.

This was reported by the "Crimean news agency".

"The law is the same for everyone. Today my son was drafted, in the morning already left for the unit on the territory of the unit. I am proud of my son and his deed," - said Sergei Aksenov.

The young man came to his father and said that he had received a call from the military enlistment office. He could not stay away from the situation. Aksenov's son had previously served in the army.

Therefore, today the head of Crimea saw off his son, along with the rest of the conscripts personally.
