"Revolution" is the ONLY brand of flea protection to use, it's also an effective de-wormer and gets rid of ear mites. Diatomaceous earth also works for flea protection and de-worming but be sure to get the FOOD grade, not the kind used in swimming pool filters.

Colloidal silver works the same on cats as it does on people. I have used it on my cats for eye infections, upper respiratory infection, urinary tract infections. Either squirt a few drops in their eyes for eye infection, or in their mouth for anything systemic.

Buy some Carpon [link to omslovemypet.com (secure)] to keep on hand for bladder crystals, which male cats are more prone to getting and is VERY expensive to treat at the vet's.

Use grain free cat food. I buy the salmon/sweet potato in 17 lb. bag at Costco, it's by far the best deal and good quality.
