Power just went out in upstate NY. Heard all my neighbors generators kick ON. | |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79391326 GREAT CRIME ATTRACTOR! These people are the b-type personalities. They get their jollies from pissing on other people, bragging how smart they are and how dumb everyone else was. They just outsmarted themselves because like you said, it will attract trouble. |

It won't be many hours before the valve gap goes out of adjustment and the valves fail. I've seen it many times before; either the owner doesn't do the maintenance or they pay someone to do the maintenance who skips the valves because they hire minimum wage dope kids who don't know what they're doing. As you mention, they are also very loud. You'd think for the price they would purr like a Honda. It's one of those things you buy because everyone else has a Generac and you want to be cool too. |

I have a 100# portable tank or a 500 gallon tank hooked to the house. Ready for winter I have not yet begun to defile myself The Fires of time consume all men equally. I Am Legion |

What’s a good instant start generator? Bro in law has a Kohler that he really likes. A neighbor has a Briggs & Stratton (I didn't know they made gennies) he is happy with it. We have a 5500W portable Honda that is fantastic but it's not automatic. Couple years ago we ran it for 8 days straight after a tornado. Full tank of gas would last almost 12 hours and run all the essentials in the house. After that tornado, the problem my neighbors with automatic setups ran into was they could not get propane delivered. I was able to find gasoline without too much of an issue. |
