The Cuban missiles crisis vs the Nord Stream missile crisis - JFK vs JoFK

Is this what Joe wants?

To look tough and courageous?

To place his finger on the button?

To threaten to destroy the world?

To be the next JFK?

I have given the parallels between the current ruckus and the Cuban Missile Crisis some reflection.

We (USA) got ALL bent out of shape that there were some missiles being parked in Cuber. Bent out of shape to the point that it almost came to blows, or so we've been told.

So now, we (NATO, but NATO and USA are interchangeable) think it'd be a good think if we'd get good and tight with Ukraine. We should have troops based there. If someone smirches Ukraine's good name, we should duke it out on Ukraine's behalf. We probably ought to have some missiles there, too, although today's missiles and 1962's missiles are different beasts. But so are missile defenses.

The bottom line, I'm thinking, is what's good for the goose ought to be good for the gander.

I understand why Russia doesn't want anymore Nuclear Missiles on
it's border. The USA has surrounded them with NUKES.
