Have a mountain climb on my bucket list, and that is to climb Kebnekaise (tallest mountain in Sweden).

It's barely 7000 feet tall, small in comparison to the "famous climbs" 1dunno1

Mt. Shasta is a weird place. I mean, you can even feel it in the air when you step out. If I were you, I'd pick somewhere else. Anywhere else.
Do more than expected, take less than allowed.

When dealing with a friend, if you aren't getting the short end, you're doing it wrong.

Mount Robson, Highest Mountain in Canada, In the Jasper rockies. Highly recommended to climb this as its just beautiful, And there's a walk-in along the way up to the Top. Not far away from a campsite. There are official tent areas all up the mountain for camping setups.

Kaiwa Ridge on Oahu. A volcano rather than a mountain, but not a bad workout on a Saturday Morning.

I've done Washington Mt a couple of times in the 80's. Great memories. And many other mountains in the White Mountains, like Jefferson, etc. Never gets old.

Speaking of old, too bad the Old Man on the Mountain took a tumble in New Hampshire! That was an iconic figure, without a doubt!

I hiked Washusett back in 2018. Also did Monadnock (2015) and Mt Washington twice (2012, 2016). I lived in northern NH briefly back in the 90s, South Percy was just about in my backyard.

Re: last mountain you climbed?
Conquering a mountain or a nice lady is all about the climb. On the way "there" you are willing to do just about ANYTHING to make it, blood, sweat, tears, mental struggles, planning, remembering. If you miss the smallest detail, the whole effort might be wasted.

And when you eventually reach the "top", it doesn't feel just AS good as you thought it would. Actually the thrill was the best just like 15 mins before getting "there".

Funny how it goes. And yes, several of both.

Why do you want to climb a mountain?
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.
