I honestly don’t think Putin will test Poseidon, but instead leverage it as a response to any potential NATO response. The head of NATO already rejected Ukraines rush application to join last week after Zelensky submitted it. Biden said he will defend every inch of NATO territory, which Ukraine is not. This posturing sets the stage for Putin to use tactical nukes on the front lines in Ukraine, maybe even Kyiv/Kiev and only face further sanctions; as Biden stated would be the US response upon such an action.

The rumors of Putin testing Poseidon + knowing it’s probable use/scale suggest to me that there is no feasible “test” that would only effect Ukraine. Any “test” even if in the small bay next to Odessa would absolutely and undoubtedly create a radioactive tsunami that would effect every country in the entire Black Sea; NATO countries of Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and the non-NATO countries of Moldova, Georgia, and Russia itself now technically via the newly annexed Novorussiya Territory.

Such a test would irrevocably lead to MAD within 12-24 hours at least in Europe followed by a mass exodus from the USA/Asia to south of the equator to minimize population damage from the radioactive fallout that would encompass the northern hemisphere. I highly doubt they would send their sub up the Dnipro and detonate it to radioactivate the entire length of the river up Zaporizhzhia and into Kyiv/Kiev. It would be a sure way to create an expansive no mans land, but I fee the ensuing nuclear disaster from the NPP would be awful and not desired.

Henceforth I feel Putin will use tactical nukes in strategic points on the front line to stay within the political boundaries drawn the the players of this game. He will warn NATO against any form of response or further aid to Ukraine by leveraging their already leaked plans of detonating Poseidon to destroy the UK AND northern european NATO coastlines. He knows we know one sub is deployed from the White Sea which technically could go into either the pacific or the Atlantic via the Arctic. I guess the next few days we shall see what develops.
