Attis = Jesus
Attis was a central figure in the mythology of the Phrygians in Asia Minor. He was a dying god who experienced a sort of resurrection (varied depending on particular myth). Attis was the precursor to later mythology incorporated by Osiris, Adonis and Jesus. All were considered "vegetation gods", all were celebrated in the spring around the equinox and all were associated with a female who held special qualities (goddess/mother god/virgin/etc). The hero is usually both the son and lover of the female figure (Isis/Mary/Cybele).
