also, i highly doubt that a small amount of cannabis would be a single federal crime

all it mean is that some one with a bigger charge got caught with a small bag of weed while they were committing the federal crime

Does everyone realize that a president can only pardon FEDERAL offenses?

The federal law applies to offenses committed on federal property, which includes:

* the Capitol grounds and the mall within DC
* all national parks
* military property nationwide
* and other land under federal control.

So the guys sitting in any state prison, who were arrested for possesion of marajuana, are still serving terms.

Fine. Call your governor and tell him to get off his ass and pardon everyone who was arrested for simple posession of weed in your state, as Biden did.

And by the way, the people he pardoned were not just convicted of cannabis offenses committed on Federal property. While the vast majority of convictions are under state laws, Federal officers can and have charged people with simple possession anywhere and they were convicted under Federal law.

One small step for man, one giant leap for Mankind.

If you went to federal prison for possession, you must've possessed a LOT. Those are probably the last people you should consider pardoning. It's the guy who got caught smoking a joint on the beach and sits in a county jail that needs the pardon. I bet there's more than 6500 of those.

That's just the felons and by right should snowball down through and erase all misdemeanor charges as well.
