That airbase is in Russia, just in case anyone doesn't get it. No, not in the occupied territories. All the way in Russia itself. If true, this would be a game changer if they can strike into Russia now.

Apparently, the Russian air defence systems failed to launch or were unable to intercept.

According to early reports coming out of Russia on Friday morning, an unknown UAV was reportedly shot down over Shaykovka Air Base in Kaluga Oblast.

Shaykovka AB is home to the 52nd Guards Heavy Bomber Regiment with Tu-22M3 bombers and is located over 200km from Ukraine.

I thought of that too, but probably not HIMAR this time... just my guess...Why? Because a drone like that leaves evidence. Pretty clear evidence from what we've seen of drone attacks so far.

Well considering the cost and capabilities of that bomber, Putin ain't gonna be a happy camper if that news is true. And that's times two.



Not only did that just cost him dearly, but the prospect of getting more such attacks inside Russia will infuriate him to no end. Lookout Kyiv- paybacks are hell.

And that just ratcheted up his temptation on Poland/Germany too- to bust up supply lines from NATO.

You're never going to get satisfactory proof because you weren't there when it allegedly happened and didn't see it with your own eyes. It doesn't really matter, though. All that matters is whether Russia reacts to it. If they do, it might as well be true. If they don't, it's a lower than a footnote in history that will be forgotten by the end of the day.
