Increasing platelet count does not promote clotting, necessarily. It depends on platelet FUNCTION, which can be normal (no excess clotting) or abnormal (excess clotting). Abnormal platelet function can be caused by many things, like stress. Abnormal function can also be opposed by many common nutrients and drugs, like aspirin, pyridoxine (B6), niacin (B3), vitamin E, sulfur (like N-acetylcysteine), and other stuff.
Platelets are generally GOOD. They are the body's healers. Look up PRP -- Platelet Rich Plasma -- and learn about the regenerative and healing effects of platelets. Wonderful stuff.
