There is nothing wrong with a brain implant that helps healing (or makes deaf hear for example).

There is even nothing wrong with people who want to get their credit card as chip implant. I think its stupid, but if someone wants that, not my problem.

Are you sure it’s “healing”, or not manipulated?

Deaf by birth means that the hearing system has different. Then their brain also develop differently (their other senses can be sharper than average since their brain power being focused on other function). In another word, these people are different.

With that in mind, “healing” them is alternative to their brain function. What guarantee that after the implantation, they’re hearing the same thing other people hearing, or it’s a intrusive hack to feed info to the brain, that can be tampered/malfunctioned?

I would do it if I had no other chance of getting better. I'd have to research more and have some type of contract stating that once I was cured that the device and anything associated with it were to be removed from my body.

You believe in that your damaged brain somehow heals, as well as there is free space to implant foreign object however small into your brain? How do you know it’s still you when the implantation was feeding info, and helping in functioning? What if it can takeover and overwrite your “self”? That “new you” may then refuse to be removed however written in the contract by the “old you”?

If it's implanted between the skin and the skull, then it is not a "brain" implant. I would only accept it if I was otherwise in good health, but had a brain tumor and wanted to live longer. If I was super old I'd just say forget it let me die already.
