The thing is. is that OP is correct.

Suffering is baptismal fire AKA cleansing fire. It burns away your sins. Humbles you. Invokes repentence. Its also a test of faith. Faith as in devotion. Commitment. To God. To goodness. Only way to prove youre truly committed is to endure unrelenting suffering and stay faithful through the temptation of evil. This is all to prevent again what got us here in the first place: the fall of man in Genesis. Cant rapture a bunch of untested fakes who will cause it again in heaven and this whole story to repeat.
