New observations made by amateur astronomers in Austria have ruled out the chance of a two-kilometre asteroid hitting the Earth on 1 February 2019.

Initial data on asteroid 2002 NT7 had suggested a slim chance of an impact, but this was based on only 15 days of observations since the asteroid's discovery on 9 July. Astronomers' confidence that further observations would dismiss the possibility has been vindicated.

Computer models of the impact risk had reported a chance of one in 250,000 of a 2019 impact and a full moon on Thursday made new observations difficult. None were reported between 25 and 27 July.

Glenn Beck is often known for his "tongue in cheek" humor. I'm sure that he was simply trying to be funny and to elicit a knee-jerk response from the conspiracy theorists among us.

I heard him say it too and I about fell over. Then in his next sentence he said something like, "Of course this isn't true". Then went on to describe our economy as if it is an asteroid coming to earth and simply qualified his prior statement as a economic scenario. For example he said, if there was a real asteroid coming to earth they would be doing everything to stop it and yet our economy is like a catostrophic event coming towards us and all we do is make that "asteroid" bigger.

This is the one you should worry about.

What is so eerie is that I am expecting just such an announcement for just such an event as it will be Seal 6 of Revelation opening up ... and right around this time! So when Beck began his "event announcement" I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"A recently rediscovered 400-meter Near-Earth Asteroid (NEA) is predicted to pass near the Earth on 13 April 2029."

I was hoping for a litte earlier date.

You have to be kidding? You don't know about the asteroid that is due here in 2019, not the one that will have a 1/45,000 chance in 2013 within 320,000 miles of center of earth but on it's 2029 Pass will be a 1/8 chance of collision with earth but it's small, only 1000', at a speed of only 55,000 MPH, it will only, if it hits earth take out a size of land of State of NY. The 2019 will exceed that speed by 3 fold and is about 4000 feet wide, about 32 times the mass of the other one and will take out earth the size of Texas, major major damage but it will lead to a major cooling of the earth via the dust and sun ray blockage! Wow a solution for America using 40% of the worlds energy and creating per person more then 60 times that of China.
Why do you think Russia, with till now ITER.ORG, was building the Thermo Nuclear Reactor in Southern France, China and Sibera also. We need the laser that they will power to take these Critters out with but Americans have no technology to do so as America is the lowest in Math and Science skills in the industialized nations, that is why America is to become a third world country.

Glenn Beck is correct, except for one minor detail. This asteroid will not be composed of rock material, it will be a huge ball of Vicks which will strike Becks home and make him shed tears eternally for his viewers.

Only an immediate 122% increase in Medicare taxes and a 26% increase in Social Security taxes can prevent (or more likely, delay) its impact.

Realizing that Americans have become pretty much numb to these kinds of ridiculous sounding proposals, U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson tried to up the ante this week. "Without change," he said, "Rising costs will drive government spending to unprecedented levels, consume nearly all projected federal revenues, and threaten America's future prosperity."

Now, I know we're all worried about important sounding things that none of us understand, like CDO's, SIV's, and Credit Default Swaps, but did you hear what our Treasury Secretary just said?
