Prayer request for young girl. Update in OP | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 84625942 Mexico 11/02/2022 02:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to work as an RT (Respiratory Therapist) in the States, in the 80s and 90s. Blood gases is a test performed where blood from an artery is drawn and the levels of O2 and CO2 are checked and depending on the results, the exact amount of oxygen is given to the patient in liters per minute to provide proper oxygenation of tissue and organs while she recovers. Also, I´d advice to use alcohol to humidify the oxygen in order to break the surface tension of the alveoli (surfactant) and water allocated still there can evaporate more quickly clearing the lungs. Whoever does the procedure will know what to do. Hmmm. In Latin-America, that job and knowledge is performed by a nurse, or perhaps a Doctor and in seldom cases, a Neumologist. Please read this post as a mere suggestion for the medical personnel. In the Sttaes, an RT is qualified to know what is needed to keep the patient alive under any circumstances, while God cures the patient t6hrough Doctors orders. The RT tells the Doctor what is needed for the heart and lungs to continue to sustain life, and makes appropriate suggestions to Doctor to write as orders in the patient´s chart, which then RT performs on patient. Blessings. |

Check temperature and use blankets to warm her to normal. As many as are needed. The more help you give her (even regulating her temperature), the better she will respond and the faster her recovery will be. Blessings. I will send this to the mom. IIRC, they did the arterial blood gas check upon admission. She was loaded with IVs and the mom donated blood for the girl. It didn't look like she would make it at first, but they got her healthy enough to get her out of ICU and start a therapy program. It seems like what brought her back to ICU was convulsions, but it didn't affect her breathing. She is on anti-seizure medication for epilepsy. I am not sure if she had an issue with seizures prior or they are using medicine for the convulsions. Mom just had a 2 hour visit with neurologist and zoomed in a CBD doctor from Canada. The hospital is one of the best in Central America. Most of the doctors are US board certified. It is one of the best burn centers in the world, too. (Hospital constructed by a billionaire and his wife after they were in a plane crash.) They are also okay with CBD protcol administered by mom, figuring it isn't going to hurt. They are trying to get her stabilized to be sent to Canada for further treatment. Thank you so much for your advice and prayers. |

She was revived, but in ICU for many days. It looked like she was healing, but convulsions returned and she is in ICU again. Quoting: Happy in Nature Her name is Indi. Please pray for her and her mom, who is having a hard time with this, especially as a foreigner trying to navigate health care in a poor country. (She is at a great hospital, fortunately.) Update: She was just given CBD an hour ago, which stopped the convulsions after 30 minutes. Not sure if it will heal, but at least her body is resting. I saw photos from the time they pulled her out of the pool and se was deep blue. It is a miracle that she lived. Please keep up the prayers. Hopefully Indi will be on a medical flight to Vancouver in the next 48 hours. Plane lined up, but not sure if they have enough donations to fly out tomorrow. I had no.idea how crazy expensive those flights are, especially equipped with doctors and a mini hospital on board. I will update when there is more news on her condition. |

Today, I'm just going to vent a little... Upon seeing this thread, my rage was instant. She is so innocent that I really wanted to beat her parents up for not watching her good enough. Build a fucking fence! Lock the goddamn gate! I picture(d) beating them up slowly over a couple days until they felt the fear she must have felt. I admit to not reading the updates today because I don't want to know she's dead- if she is. Last Edited by Cpt Trips on 11/03/2022 01:40 PM What am I thinking? How do I feel? What am I doing? |
