There are some EXTREMELY whacked out residents in a lot of these places that have "Flown under the radar" They shouldn't be in "Retirement" homes. They should be hospitalized and/or incarcerated. The abuse runs both ways and the staff are expected to deal w/it by smiling and reporting the events at shift end while patients are NOT being transferred to suitable facilities. There ARE violent patients/residents that act out continually and there is ZERO security personnel to keep them in check. I know nursing staff that were forced out due to the injuries/psych damage caused by years of patients who shouldn't be where they are. How are you reacting when you answer a bell and your charge for no reason begins clawing at you, spitting/throwing excrement & urine at you? You're just gonna smile, chart it and report? People (Patients/Staff) naturally react to abuse. Personally I couldn't maintain my composure if I were faced w/their career's and have no shame stating it. The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs with strong condemnation. Reactions, and condemnations are coming. Meanwhile, Gazeta Express reported that four nurses were suspended because of this case. The footage of the violence that was published today on social networks and in the media allegedly took place in the “Orenda” care center for the elderly in Pec, and the police spokesman for the Pec region, Fadilj Gashi, in a statement to Clan of Kosovo he stated that the attack on the old woman actually happened on October 29, reports KoSSev.info. The video shows how the old woman tries to defend herself while the worker repeatedly slaps her in the face and kicks her in the stomach. Gashi also said that three people were arrested in connection with this case. The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peja announced that two prosecutors were involved in this case.
