Sensory processing disorders are commonly thrown in the autism bucket too. Sensory processing disorders vary from high irritation to certain sounds (screeching on a chalk board), or the feel of textures to being Sensory seeking where sounds and textures are stimulating. If you have a kid with high functioning autism and learn about the signs, you end up noticing that there are a lot of adults who are undiagnosed aspies. |
