My experience was one of conciousness, although I didn't encounter any alien life forms, I felt like I had information 'downloaded' into me.

I was looking at a tree and I realized that there are only 3 numbers in the universe- everything else is just a fraction. Those numbers are 0,1 and infinity. Death and the Earth represent 0, the tree that is rooted in the Earth and reaches for the sky is 1 (like us, our consiousness, or just being witness to our reality unifies death/infinity/heaven realm), and the sky is Death/infinity/heaven.
I also had a ton of mathematical equations that I can't even explain go into my head (I'm below average at math, btw). Basically the engine of the universe is pi- the golden spiral that has no end and only reason for existence is the word BECAUSE (it's somehow numeric, but I couldn't find words to explain what I felt). Thanks for letting me sound off- I've always thought that mushrooms were a catalyst for our spiritual and intuitive evolution.

There is a strong connection. Trust me on this. It is almost like they know.

I remember a 'quote' from the 70's, insinuating that because man had become so material...Christ had returned to earth in the form of LSD.

I found but was unable to maintain a state of 'enlightenment', but i am not sure that I would have understood or even tried to reach enlightenment without having had at least one or few halucinogenic experiences.

...in the book "Remember be here now" , a 70+ year old yogi drops enough LSD to seriously fuck up a much younger man and reports, 'that's what I thought...'

I would describe my experience of gaining and losing enlightenment very similar to the parable of the wedding feast...the expression many are called, but few are chosen took on a very real meaning for me...
