The world took one more step in a strange and bothersome direction. ‘ Palmer Luckey, defense contractor and the father of modern virtual reality, has created a VR headset that will kill the user if they die in the game they’re playing. He did this to commemorate the anime, Sword Art Online. Luckey is the founder of Oculus, a company he sold to Facebook in 2014 for $2 billion. This is the technology that Mark Zuckerberg rebranded as the foundation for Meta.’ [ link to www.vice.com (secure)] Anyone catch the part about all the ties to defense contractors? You know this is sensationalist bullshit used to piggyback political demonization, don't you? This paragraph say it all: "Luckey sold Oculus to Facebook for $2 billion in 2014 and left the company in 2017. He later told CNBC he believed he was fired for "no reason at all" and speculated that his right-wing political donations could have been to blame." They simply want you to believe he's an evil right winger.
