Not publicly. People in NASA have heard. Or at least people I know that were in NASA several years after, claim to have heard it.

There was a pbs special about it years ago.
They said the astronauts were alive when they hit the water.
There was lots of blame pointed at NASA about removing the ejection system to save weight.
It was originally designed to allow part of the cabin to parachute down in the event of a failure.
They assumed an explosion would kill everyone instantly and used that for justification to not include the system.
The removal of the system allowed more payload to be carried.
It was so sad when it blew up. And terrifying to think about what they experienced.
