They soak up gas fumes, and if there's a spark, they burst into flames. A friend of mine bought an old VW Bug, and on the way home the engine caught fire. The VW burnt up, and he walked down the road and hitchhiked home. He only lost a few hundred bucks. Gas cars burn up all the time, and also travel trailers. I've seen quite a few burning vehicles on the side of the road. So much wrong here but the simple fact is you can smell gas long before anything catches fire. The lithium batteries exolode without warning. And no, gas cars dont burn up "all the time". Been working on cars for 10 years, its rare for a gas car to catch fire and even more rare for them to explode. Its not a tesla specific thing, its the nature of these lithium ion batteries. |

The tesla ev is technologically flawed and that cannot be solved by changing the position of the battery.. |
