The first song is about the fact that in any relationship both people are walking down the proverbial "street" of the other person. The "street" involves the person's beliefs, hopes, dreams, desires, goals, etc. The second song is about the fact you want the "street" you're on with the other person to have no names. In other words, you want to find a person without beliefs, hopes, dreams, desires, goals, etc. because that opens things up to maximum creativity and success. Concerning my analysis of "Where the Streets Have No Name", these lines from the song reveal I'm right: And when I go there I go there with you It's all I can do He can only go there with the other person because where the streets have no name refers to singer's street and the other person's street. It's all he can do because it's a one-way street. You have no choice but to get on the street of the other person to be with that person.
