Does anyone else look forward to Black Friday purely as a gladiatorial sport more than an opportunity to save money?

I don't think I've ever actually went shopping on Black Friday, physically.

But, I do love waiting for the videos that pop up throughout the day of people fighting over cheap chinese shit that will be in the trash in a year or two.

It's like the closest thing to real life walking dead.

Why it gotta be black? We prefer to call it 'Act a fool' day.

I went one time about 10 years ago...

Trashy people fighting over who's in line, two women were both touching a barbie toy claiming it before the allowed time and so on. Actual fist fights over a place in line.

It brings out the worst in humanity, it's no coincidence that it's named black Friday(not racist) just evil.

Thanks for telling me you aren't a racist... otherwise I would have just assumed you were saying Ni***r Friday and then I would have called the authorities.

I am anxiously awaiting the amazing videos that come out from this savage frenzy.
They are always entertaining.

I'm hoping to see some serious Cherries Wrangled by the shoppers running to get their Boosters and TV Sets
And this is why we can't have nice things.

Depends where you go. But you already know this, right, OP?

I have gone out a few times over the years, mainly if there is something we need (computer equipment or a specific gift for my kid) – and the prices really cannot be beat.

I have never witnessed the nonsense in the videos. Once again, I think those are exceptions. It's not as crazy out there as you would think.

Gladiatorial? No. Any place we have ever gone for the early morning super deals has NOT been Walmart. We've done Best Buy and Gamestop, for examples.

No crazy lines, no rush of people, just calm rational shoppers who have done some research and decided where to go early and what to get.

In fact, most of the other shoppers are polite. As we wait for the store to open, we talk to each other about what we're there for, and kind of congratulate each other for being savvy shoppers AND choosing a safe outlet.

If there's something you want or need, and you see an amazing deal set up for the early hours of Black Friday, don't be afraid. Just don't go to a large store with mass appeal and a wide range of items. (Walmart, duh.) I think you'll be fine.
