I’ve been lifted by some pretty spectacular thermal updrafts ( only near hills and mountains in my experience) while gliding. But they would lift a lightweight glider mildly.

They could NEVER defeat a 100 ton jet wash. At 25000 feet and 450 knots the engines were probably at 60% so that’s 60 tons.

Just to add, if you look on flightradar each time you see a jet doing this, you will usually find they are American jets.

England has been jet/plane sprayed with all sorts of evil things since at least 1957...all on the net..especially Cornwall and Devon in the old days.
