Those polar reversals happen quite often. They are not that devastating.

What is the real planet killer, or at least life on the planet killer, is the Pole Shift.

It moves entire continents and changes the world's oceans, rivers and lakes.

It can only happen if a huge gravitational pull is applied to our planet. It is the possible result of the close passover of an incoming massive planet that has arrived to go around our sun on its passage back out into space to continue its journey.

It is the Planet X System theory espoused by many individuals who are considered by the people surpressing the theory as nutjobs.

I am expecting the pass-over of one of the planets in the system called Nibiru...this coming spring. It will be causing the usual earth changes the government attributes to climate change. These events, like earthquakes, and erupting volcanos will get worse and more deadly as the incoming Nibiru gets closer.

It should arrive with all the prophecies made eons ago by witnesses to the last "passover". Things like three days of darkness when the huge planet fills the sky and hides the sun.
