Musk should manufacture a pure Linux based phone, with no corporation encumbrances, such as Google or Apple attached to it, spying on people. It wouldn't have to communicate with satellites. It could just attach to regular phone providers.

And I'd be interested if he did that, assuming the spying is dropped from the design.

Here's an idea. How about having NO PHONE! I don't have a cell or smart phone and I manage to survive.

It's a basic phone with p2p calling and text plus crypto wallet. Long battery life and it'll look like a Blackberry, water proof with a keyboard. The downside is it won't connect with the regular phone network, so it's like a non-internet dedicated Skype (without Skype out), but I would use this like a "Bat Phone" and keep my regular phone.

Elon Musk is making noise about the censorship on iPhone and that's not as secure as this, but an option I think a lot of people might switch to. It doesn't have the security of a phone like a "Bat Phone".

Best is to control your own towers or sats, but the cost to do that is not possible. This is the best we can do and on your own private network and subnet that we would control, we can monitor intrusion and maintain security way better than a public network.

Correct. This phone would be set up for terrestrial private cell network, starlink and public unlicensed spectrum. Eventually, you will set up your own base stations and mesh as you describe.

I was talking about a network with no hubs. There was a company trying to make it but it requires many devices to be meshed. It was called Bee something. It’s possible I didn’t understand what I was looking into but it was a cell service based on no towers. Maybe it would only work locally but that’s good for me.

I have about 15-20 people I talk to on my phone. That's it.

Of course, the main reason I have it is in case of an emergency, like my car dies, I need an ambulance, etc.

I hate being tracked, I never answer my phone unless I know who's calling.

I'd certainly be interested in a phone that is private! Keep all governments out! I've never broken the law & I don't plan on ever breaking the law. Our government has no business, in my business!
