Not Chinese but there's a good chance his lineage is part East Asian.
Musk is short for Muskovite, or 'From Moscow', or Russian. Some Russians have an Asian look because the Soviet Union extended east to Vladivostok, near Alaska.
He says he grew up in South Africa right? There was a large wave of immigration of Russian j to South Africa in the 1880s. Elon is a popular modern j name that means oak, like an oak tree.
His heritage probably is Russuan J with some mixed East Asian blood.
